Florence Nightingale

I admire Florence Nightingale for her courage to live a different life from her wealthy family. She even believed she had a divine calling from the Lord to help the poor and sick and the wounded. From her beliefs, she committed herself to nursing though been discouraged by her family. During her time, nurse profession was considered dirty and filthy job for a well-educated people. She had a great interest in statistics and had made many contributions in medical profession. Besides that, Florence Nightingale also wrote a book using her own theology though the 3-volume book was never published except for the section Cassandra. She trained a lot of nurses for the Crimean War Campaign to help the unattended wounded soldiers. However, she was believed to be suffering chronic fatigue syndrome that caused her to bedridden. She died at the age 90 on 13 August 1910 and her birthday is now celebrated as the International CSF Awareness Day.
